Job Summary
Reporting to Director, MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa, the office holder will support the Program Director in all matters related to scholars support and welfare.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
- Organize the scholar’s pre University orientation workshop this includes organizing scholars travels (Visas, passports and any other travel documentation required by the scholars, Organize accommodation for the scholars, medical insurance, trainers and assistant trainers during the workshop.
- Develop an all rounded follow up program for the scholars with existing student support services
- Organize one on one and group check in with the scholars where necessary.
- Work with other programs staff to ensure overall success of scholars.
- Building strong relationships with Scholars to support academic, psychosocial and professional development
- Assist the Program Director with program data collection for monitoring, evaluation and learning.
- Conduct academic support for Scholars by following up on class registration, attendance and involvement in other extracurricular activities
- Generate reports on Scholars academic performance each semester, Registration reports, and degree audit reports to ensure on time graduation.
- Monitor and track on time graduation of Scholars.
- Support and refer Scholars with academic challenges to support services with the university for retention.
- Prepare and facilitate Scholars annual travels.
- Support Scholars general welfare, including but not limited to emergency travels and emergency medical support.
- Contribute to a range of administrative and programmatic activities as needed
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the direct reporting.
Qualifications /Educational/Professional/experience)
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business, social sciences or other related fields from an accredited university.
- Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years working with young people in various support/development areas preferably in an institution of higher Learning.

- Passion for creating opportunities and supporting development of high-potential African youth.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in database management/CRM platforms.
